In 1989, Jonney Shih provided funding to four engineers to start ASUS with the vision of building a company focused on the development of state-of-the-art technology. Mr. Shih began his current role as the Chairman in 1993, and until 2007 he also served as the Chief Executive Officer.

As Chairman, Mr. Shih guides the company’s vision, corporate culture, and innovation strategies. Under his leadership, ASUS has become an internationally recognized technology leader that ranks No. 1 in worldwide sales of motherboards and No. 3 in consumer notebooks. For the last several years, Fortune magazine has named ASUS as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies. Since 2013, ASUS has been ranked annually by Interbrand as the most valuable international brand from Taiwan.

Mr. Shih is well known for his passion and commitment to innovation, and his relentless pursuit of perfection has helped to commercialize a generation of technology for consumers around the world. In 2006, he led the development of the revolutionary ASUS Eee PC, a compact, cost-effective device that ignited the mobile computing era and marked the beginning of a new category of PCs that became known as netbooks.

In 2008, Mr. Shih guided the separation of the ASUS Original Equipment Manufacturing and Original Design Manufacturing businesses — a strategic decision that proved vital in developing global recognition for the ASUS brand. In 2014, he spearheaded the development of the first ZenFone — the flagship ASUS smartphone series that combines refined aesthetics and functionality to deliver empowering luxury. Within just two years of the release of ZenFone, ASUS became a trendsetting global smartphone brand.

In 2016, Mr. Shih introduced the first ASUS home robot, Zenbo, marking an important milestone in his ambitious long-term vision of enabling robotic computing for every household, while transforming ASUS into a technology leader for the next industry paradigm shift.

In 2019, Mr. Shih initiated a complete corporate transformation known as Wiser Together, encouraging everyone at ASUS to evolve and achieve a new level of idea meritocracy that enables the company to grow and prosper from an abundance of creative and meaningful inputs.

Nen-Fu Huang / President / Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology

Education:

Dr. Huang received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan, in 1986.

Experience:

He is now (12/2024-) the President of Southern Tawan University of Sciecne and Technology (STUST), Taiwan. Since 2008, he is a Distinguished Professor of NTHU. He was the Dean of College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, NTHU, during 2016/8-2022/7. From 1997-2000, he was the Chairman of Department of Computer Science, NTHU and From 2015-2016, he was the director of Computer and Communication Research Center (CCRC) of NTHU. He is the founder of Broadweb Corp., (www.broadweb.com) and from 2002 to 2006, he served as the CEO/Chairman of Broadweb, which was acquired by TrendMicro, an international security company, in 2013. He is also the founder of ShareCourse, an AI-based digital learning platform (www.sharecourse.net), which provides digital courses including IoT, AI, Big Data Analysis, FinTech, Robot related courses. Dr. Huang has published more than 250 journal and conference papers, including more than 50 papers in IEEE INFOCOM/ICC/GLOBECOM flag-ship conferences. Dr. Huang also has granted/pending near 60 patents, including 18 US patents. He is a Fellow of the BCS (British Computer Society) and a life senior member of the IEEE.

Research Area:

AIoT technologies and applications, AI Sustainable and Smart Agriculture, Agriculture Digital Twins, Blockchain based Food traceability, AI-based crops grading/classification technologies, LPWAN (LoRaWAN/NB-IoT) transmission technologies and applications, AI-based Data Analysis for Digital Learning, and network security.

He received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the NTHU in 1993, 1998, and 2008, the Outstanding University/Industrial Collaboration Award from Ministry of Education (MOE), Taiwan in 1998, and Outstanding IT people Award from ITmonth, ROC in 2002. He received the Technology Transfer Award from National Science Council (NSC) of Taiwan in 2004. He received the Technology Creative Award from Computer and Communication Research Center (CCRC) from NTHU in 2005, and the Outstanding University/Idustrial Collaboration Award from NTHU in 2010. He received the MOOCs Benchmark Course Award from MOE in 2018, Prominent program Award of Teaching practice progam from MOE in 2019, Oustansing project execution Award from NSC in 2022, Outstanding Social Pratice Teacher Award from NTHU in 2022, Outsdanding program Award of Teaching practice progam from MOE in 2023, USR (University Social Responsibility) role model Award in 2023, IoT Creative Application Award from Pan Wen-Yuan Foundation in 2023, Outstanding University/Idustrial Reseach Award from NTHU in 2023, Outstanding Eletrical Engineering Professor Award from Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) in 2023, and Kuo-Ting Li Special AI Contribution Award in 2025..

AIoT Research Projects:

Professor Huang has many successful experiences in AI Smart Agriculture. For the past ten years, Professor Huang has collaborated with more 40 farms (including organic vegetable, Banana, Mango, Pineapple, Coffee, rice paddy fields, dragon fruits, flowers,...) in Taiwan to implement AI and IoT technologies into the farms. Also these AI smart farms are playing the experiencing fields for training AI talent. Professor Huang also developed many cloud based AI smart agriculture platform and AI training platforms (AImaker) for training talents to build and evaluate their own AI models, including video/image recognition AI models (via AR Smart glasses) and Audio recognition models (via AI tap stick, invented by Professor Huang).

AI-Powered UAVs in GPS-Denied Environments

Teng-Hu Cheng / Professor / National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University

Professor Teng-Hu Cheng is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2015 and participated in the Intel IoT research program in the United States. He has over 10 years of experience in UAV control. In 2014, his paper was selected from among 904 submissions to receive the Hugo Schuck Best Paper Award from the American Automatic Control Council (ACC). In 2016, he was appointed as a Young Chair Professor at National Chiao Tung University.

In 2018, he received the Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MOST) Outstanding Young Scholar Research Program (three-year term) to conduct research on autonomous UAV technologies, and won Excellent Performance at the MOST AIslanders Show. In 2023, he was awarded the Wu Ta-You Memorial Award by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Outstanding Teaching Award by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

In 2024, he became the Chief Robotics Scientist at TronFuture Inc., responsible for AI-based UAV defense and interception, as well as GPS-denied UAV positioning and navigation, contributing to securing numerous international orders for the company. He also received the Excellent Young Engineering Professor Award from the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Robotics Society of Taiwan, and the Chinese Automatic Control Society.

In 2025, he achieved the highest score in the 2nd National Defense Application UAV Challenge. To date, he has published over 50 academic papers in the fields of control and robotics, many of which have appeared in top-tier or highly influential international journals and conferences, such as IEEE TAC, RA-L, TCST, TRO, IEEE/ASME TMECH, ACC, and CDC.

程登湖教授為現任國立陽明交通大學機械系教授,於 2015 年取得佛羅里達大學機械工程博士學位、並曾參與美國 Intel IOT 研究計畫,對無人機控制有超過 10 年的經驗,2014 年論文曾於 904 篇中獲選美國自動控制學會 (ACC) Hugo Schuck 最佳論文獎。2016 獲得國立交通大學青年講座教授。2018 年獲得科技部優秀年輕學者研究計畫(3 年期) 並執行無人機自動駕駛技術之研究。2018 年在科技部舉辦的 AIslanders Show 獲得 excellent performance。2023 年榮獲國科會吳大猷先生紀念獎、國立陽明交通大學優良教學獎。2024 年擔任創未來科技公司的首席機器人學家,負責無人機的 AI 防禦與攔截、無 GPS 的無人機定位與導航,幫助公司爭取眾多國際訂單。程教授也榮獲中國機械工程學會的優秀青年工程教授獎、台灣機器人學會青年機器人工程獎、中華民國自動控制學會的青年自動控制工程獎。2025 年榮獲第二屆國防應用無人機挑戰賽榮獲最高分。至今已累積發表超過 50 篇學術論文,涵蓋控制與機器人等領域,並多次發表於領域內頂尖或具指標性的國際期刊與會議,如 IEEE TAC、RA-L、TCST、TRO、IEEE/ASME TMECH、ACC 及 CDC 等。
